Positive behaviour support 28.02.20

Positive Behaviour Support: Reducing challenging behaviour proactively, not reactively.

This course will outline what the positive behaviour support model looks like in an everyday classroom, how to implement it and how it differs from a behaviour management/control model.

During the course, delegates will:

  • Discuss the function of behaviour as a form of communication
  • Familiarise themselves with the four main categories of behaviour
  • Formalise strategies in order to support behaviour in a positive way
  • Discuss how these strategies can support their current environment

There will also be the opportunity for delegates to take part in writing individual behaviour plans that focus on the proactive approach.

Target audience:

SENDCO’s looking to adopt positive behaviour strategies across the whole school.  Teachers and TA’s working with children displaying challenging  behaviour.
