This four session network provides an opportunity for personal assistants across phases (or staff with similar roles) to share good practice and discuss issues that arise and how to overcome them.

This four session network provides an opportunity for staff in schools with significant responsibility for work related learning or work experience to share good practice and discuss issues that arise and how to overcome them. The Gatsby Benchmarks will be a key focus for this programme.

This session is for anyone who is ‘customer facing’ within schools which means everyone! However, the session is particularly useful for office based staff. The session will cover:

  • Understanding the wide range of customers

Developing teaching & learning styles for young people with SEND: managing SEMH in the classroom and attachment

 

This cross-phase session will be led by behaviour SLE, Rachel Lynch, and Subject Specialist, Sian Bending, who both work in an SEMH setting. The session covers topic such as:

 

  • An overview of attachment related behaviours

  • The impact of trauma and ACE (adverse childhood experiences) on mental health and behaviour.

  • Strategies to help support young people with SEMH needs.

Research project team - Year 1: skills for research and project planning

 

This cross-phase programme is designed to run over two years: year 1 will focus on skills for research and will result in participants planning their own project around literacy and vocabulary within their setting. Year 2 will focus on the implementation and evaluation of the project, culminating in a sharing event.
