Building mathematical reasoning into daily teaching sequences
This course is designed to enable delegates to explore how to incorporate mathematical reasoning into the daily mathematics lesson. Delivered by Lorraine Woollven the course will look closely at:
- what reasoning looks like in primary mathematics
- how tasks can be opened up to enable reasoning and a provide children with a more interconnected understanding of a topic;
- how pupils think about the mathematics and make connections to find solutions;
- different materials that can be freely accessed to support planning for reasoning.
