The North Avon Teaching School Alliance supports primary, secondary and special schools in, and beyond, South Gloucestershire. Bradley Stoke Community School was accredited as a teaching school in 2017, leading to the formation of the North Avon TSA.
We are outward-facing and our focus is on sharing what schools do well and providing meaningful and evidence based support to areas in need. We are currently developing programmes to target improvement and build capacity within the alliance schools whilst also working with other teaching schools to improve standards across, and beyond, South Gloucestershire.
The alliance works closely with the Olympus Academy Trust, the Castle School Education Trust (CSET), the ENABLE Trust, Chipping Sodbury School, Brimsham Green School, Bristol Engineering & Technology Academy, and New Horizons Learning Centre. NATSA also supports Initial Teaching Training (ITT) via the School Direct programme and has an active interest in engaging with evidence-based research.
Our vision and ethos
Our vision is to empower practitioners to provide excellence for all young people through collaboration, reflection, continuous improvement and targeted action.
The vision of the North Avon TSA is underpinned by a common set of values that bring together our joint efforts to raise standards.
Collaboration and openness are essential in our joint endeavours; recognising that we can achieve more by working together rather than operating in isolation; that in our joint work we are honest but not judgmental, displaying mutual respect, trust and transparency in all that we do.
We share responsibility together for raising standards and in doing so we value risk taking, innovation and openness to new ideas in our mission to improve outcomes. Finally, we value each and every contribution and recognise that all alliance members have a role to play.
